The passing of Murray Sinclair affords all citizens the opportunity to reflect upon the teachings and contributions of this great Canadian.
The Manitoba Federation of Union Retirees extends its deepest condolences and message of solidarity to the entire Sinclair family.Justice Sinclair talked often of the “great questions of life”.
His recently published book “Who We Are – Four Questions for a life and a nation”, is centered around these four “great” questions:
Where do I come from?
Where am I going?
Why am I here?
Who am I?
MFUR President, Paul Moist, reflecting on the passing of Justice Sinclair said, “the four questions frame much needed reflection for individuals, institutions, including the labour movement, and indeed Canada as a whole.”
Moist added, “One of the highlights of my career, as National President of CUPE, was the honour of introducing Murray Sinclair to 2,000 CUPE members gathered in convention, in Vancouver, in early November 2015.”
“Trade unionists knew they had a friend in Murray Sinclair. He offered all Canadians the opportunity to both reflect on our past, and to build a better, more inclusive future for all, alongside our brothers and sisters in the First Nations, Inuit and Metis communities.”
